Finding the right outfit can seem overwhelming. It doesn’t have to be. The right outfit can be uncovered with three simple concepts:
  1. Function
  2. Fabric
  3. Fit

First, you need to look at what you are going to be doing while wearing the garments, their Function.

Determining function first will enable you to pick the right Fabric. Fabrics have different characteristics and knowing what you’ll need them for will help you to choose the right ones.

Finally, once you’ve found the piece of clothing that will serve your needs you need it to Fit your body. Fit can make or break a look. It is important to wear clothes that fit your body now, not the body you had in the past or may have in the future. When the clothes fit they look better and make you look better, too.

Quick Questions to ask yourself :

  • Function: What will I be doing while wearing the garments?
  • Fabric: Which fabrics match those functional needs?
  • Fit: Do the clothes fit my body?
